Celebrity Golf Challenge 2013
This years event will be on the 25/26/27th September. The event will be slightly different to years gone by as we are not going to play the Texas scramble on the first day. In its place we are going to have and extra round of competition golf. This means all 3 days will count to the overall winner both for The Cricketers v Footballers as well as for the corporate teams that are involved.
We will have tee off times on all 3 days and we will be playing both courses at Vale Do Lobo and as usual the San Lorenzo club will be our hosts on the last day.
Teams will tee off on both the Royal and Ocean Course at Vale do Lobo on the first and second day and play the courses alternately, very simply 9 teams will tee off on the Royal course and 9 teams will tee off on the Ocean course on day one, on day two you will play the opposite course. Lunch will be on the first day as usual at the Club house at Vale do Lobo before we tee off and the closing dinner will be back at the Hotel Donna Filipa by the pool after we finish playing at San Lorenzo. For those veterans of the event they know all about the midges after dark at the San Lorenzo club house.

Footballers defeat Cricketers
Shearer led his men to a comfortable win in Portugal, leaving the series at 4-2 to the footballers. New captain of the defeated cricketers Gordon Greenidge called for a better team effort after a poor first day and whilst they improved the deficit was too great to make up.
Newcomers Ian Dowie and Lee Bowyer contributed well and despite Chris Schofield being the top sportsman the Footballers were too strong.
